- accessing and browsing the public website;
- creating and using a user account;
- membership applications and renewals;
- registrations for activities and events;
- payments made online or through another offered payment method;
- forms, comments and other communications submitted through the website.
Certain activities, memberships or sections of the website may be subject to additional rules. These rules will be presented before registration or before the related service is used.
3. Acceptance of These Terms
You must read these Terms of Use before creating an account, purchasing a membership or completing a paid registration.
When required by law, a checkbox or another confirmation mechanism may be used to obtain your consent.
A person who does not accept these Terms of Use must not create an account, complete a registration or use services reserved for members.
4. Minors
A minor may access the public areas of the website, subject to applicable laws and the rules of the Association.
When parental authorization is required for a membership, activity, registration or payment, the minor must obtain authorization from their parent or legal guardian.
The Association may request reasonable confirmation of this authorization before accepting a registration.
Certain activities may have a minimum age requirement or additional conditions. This information will be indicated on the page for the applicable activity.
5. Creating and Using an Account
You must provide accurate, complete and up-to-date information when creating your account.
You are responsible for:
- protecting the confidentiality of your password;
- not sharing your account with another person;
- ensuring that the email address connected to your account remains active;
- promptly reporting any unauthorized use of your account;
- updating your information when it changes.
When the website allows the use of a public nickname, your legal name may remain private unless it is required to process a membership, payment, registration or legal obligation.
You may not create an account using another person’s identity, nickname or contact information without their authorization.
6. Memberships
Membership in the Association is subject to:
- these Terms of Use;
- the Association’s General By-laws;
- policies adopted by the Board of Directors;
- the eligibility requirements of the selected membership category;
- payment of the applicable fees, where required.
Creating an account on the website does not automatically mean that a person has been accepted as a member.
The Association may verify the information provided and request information that is reasonably necessary to process an application.
Participation rights, voting rights and access to services are determined by the applicable membership category, the General By-laws and the policies of the Association.
A membership is personal and may not be sold, transferred, loaned or shared.
7. Membership Renewals
The duration, expiry date, price and renewal conditions will be presented on the membership plan page before payment.
Unless automatic renewal is clearly indicated and accepted, a membership will not renew automatically.
When automatic renewal is offered, the applicable conditions, price, payment frequency and cancellation method must be presented before acceptance.
The expiry of a membership may result in the loss of certain access rights or benefits reserved for members.
8. Registration for Activities
A registration is confirmed only when:
- the required form has been completed;
- the conditions specific to the activity have been accepted;
- the required payment has been received or confirmed;
- a registration confirmation has been sent.
A registration is generally personal. It may not be transferred to another person without authorization from the Association.
Registered participants must comply with the rules of the venue, reasonable instructions from event organizers and the conduct policies of the Association.
Registration for an activity does not guarantee admission when a person does not meet the announced requirements, including minimum age, safety rules or admission conditions.
9. Prices and Payments
Prices are listed in Canadian dollars unless otherwise indicated.
Before a transaction is confirmed, the following information must be presented:
- a description of the membership, activity or service;
- the applicable price;
- any mandatory additional fees;
- applicable taxes, where required;
- the total amount to be paid;
- the main cancellation and refund conditions.
Payments may be made using the methods offered through the website, including an external payment provider or Interac e-Transfer when that option is available.
The person making the payment must include the requested reference information, such as the invoice number or membership number. A payment containing incomplete information may require manual verification.
The Association will never ask you to provide your online banking password or personal security code.
10. Pricing or Transaction Errors
The Association makes reasonable efforts to provide accurate information.
When an obvious error affects a price, description, date, availability or transaction amount, the Association will contact the person concerned to correct the situation.
When a transaction cannot be completed according to the information that was presented and accepted, the person concerned may, depending on the circumstances and applicable laws, accept the correction or receive a cancellation and refund of the amount paid.
11. Cancellations and Refunds
The specific cancellation and refund conditions must be displayed on the membership or activity page before the transaction is completed.
Cancellation by the Registered Participant
When a person cancels their registration, any refund will be processed in accordance with the policy displayed at the time of purchase and applicable laws.
Costs already incurred and clearly identified as non-refundable may only be retained when permitted by law.
Cancellation by the Association
When the Association permanently cancels a paid activity, the registration fees paid for that activity will be refunded unless another solution is expressly accepted by the registered participant.
Postponement or Significant Changes
When the date, location or essential nature of an activity is significantly changed, the Association will inform registered participants of the available options, which may include keeping the registration, transferring it or receiving a refund where applicable.
Memberships
Fees for an activated membership are not automatically refundable. Any refund request will be reviewed based on the conditions presented when the membership was purchased, the services already provided and the rights provided under applicable laws.
Nothing in these Terms of Use limits any mandatory cancellation or refund right provided by law.

In particular, you may not:

13. Content Submitted to the Association
You retain your rights to the text, images, documents and other content that you submit.
However, you confirm that you have the necessary rights and authorizations to submit that content.
You grant the Association limited permission to use the content only for the purpose for which it was submitted, including:
- processing a registration;
- publishing an announcement submitted for approval;
- responding to a request;
- administering an activity;
- retaining evidence of a transaction or consent.
The Association may refuse or remove content that violates these Terms of Use, its policies or applicable laws.
14. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise indicated, the content of the website, including its text, logos, graphics, documents, layouts and creations, belongs to the Association or is used with the permission of its owner.
You may view and print the content for personal and non-commercial use.
You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, republish or otherwise exploit the content without written authorization, except where permitted by law.
Trademarks, names, characters, images and creations belonging to third parties remain the property of their respective owners. Their presence on the website does not necessarily mean that they approve, sponsor or endorse the Association.
15. External Links and Services
The website may contain links to external websites, social networks, platforms or payment providers.
These services are operated by third parties and may be subject to their own terms of use and privacy policies.
The Association is not responsible for the content or practices of an external service that it does not control. The presence of a link does not necessarily constitute a recommendation or endorsement.
16. Electronic Communications
The Association may send communications required to administer an account, membership or registration, including:
- a transaction confirmation;
- a receipt or invoice;
- a notice concerning an activity;
- a renewal or expiry notice;
- a security notification;
- a response to a support request.
Promotional communications and newsletters will be sent in accordance with the consent provided and applicable laws. They must include a method for withdrawing consent.
Unsubscribing from promotional communications does not prevent the Association from sending administrative communications required for a requested service.
17. Personal Information
The collection, use, retention and disclosure of personal information are described in the Privacy Policy of Association FurHorizon Québec.
The Privacy Policy is a separate document from these Terms of Use.
Before using a form or service that requires personal information, you should review the applicable Privacy Policy.
18. Website Security and Availability
The Association takes reasonable measures to keep the website functional and secure.
However, it does not guarantee that the website will always be available, uninterrupted or completely free of errors.
Access may be temporarily interrupted to perform maintenance, correct a problem, protect the security of the system or respond to circumstances outside the reasonable control of the Association.
You are responsible for retaining copies of important confirmations, tickets, invoices and documents provided through the website.
19. Account Suspension or Closure
The Association may suspend or restrict an account when it has reasonable grounds to believe:
- the account has been compromised;
- the information provided is false or misleading;
- a transaction is fraudulent;
- these Terms of Use have been violated;
- a person presents a serious risk to the security of the website or other users;
- a suspension is necessary to comply with a legal obligation.
When circumstances permit, the person concerned will be informed of the general reason for the measure and may submit their observations.
Decisions concerning membership status are also subject to the General By-laws and disciplinary policies of the Association.
Closing an account does not automatically cancel a valid amount owed or delete records that the Association must retain to meet its legal obligations.
20. Limitation of Liability
The Association makes reasonable efforts to keep the information on the website accurate and current. However, some information may contain errors or become outdated.
To the extent permitted by law, the Association is not liable for damages resulting exclusively from:
- a temporary interruption of the website;
- unauthorized use caused by the sharing of a password;
- inaccurate information provided by a user;
- an external service that the Association does not control;
- an unforeseeable event or circumstances outside its reasonable control.
This section does not limit any liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability resulting from intentional or gross fault, or any mandatory rights granted to consumers.
21. Changes to These Terms
The Association may amend these Terms of Use to reflect changes to its services, practices or legal obligations.
The updated version will indicate the date of its latest revision.
When a change significantly affects an active account, membership or service, reasonable notice will be provided or displayed before the change takes effect where required.
A change will not retroactively modify the price, duration or another essential condition of a completed transaction unless the person concerned consents or the change is permitted by law.
22. Priority of Documents
In the event of a conflict:
- applicable laws take priority;
- specific conditions displayed for a transaction take priority for that transaction;
- the General By-laws determine the corporate rights of members;
- these Terms of Use govern the use of the website and online services.
23. Applicable Law
These Terms of Use are governed by the applicable laws of Québec and Canada.
Any dispute will be submitted to the competent courts of Québec, subject to the mandatory rights and jurisdictional rules applicable to consumers.
